By the end of Day One, Nancy and I were about to eat our arms off, we were so hungry! She called me and said, “diets suck!” I have to admit the first day was hard………fruit all day, yes it is filling, but by the end of the day you just want to climb up a hogs’ ass and eat a ham sandwich!
Day Two we are able to eat all the vegetables we wanted and actually got to start the day with a baked potato as the complex carbohydrate. I had my spud in the microwave by 6:00 a.m. and I had my vegetable steamer cranked up full of broccoli, carrots and cauliflower……Marvelous strolled into the kitchen, observed the mayhem, shook his head and walked back into his office! Don’t think he is used to such a cooking frenzy quiet so early in the morning!
I packed my little cooler full of peas and steamed veggies for the day and off to work……….still having to bypass the Tiger BP for that delicious biscuit and sweet tea! I actually did not get hungry until around 11:45 a.m. and when I had a break I ate about half of what I had packed. Nancy came in for a mani/pedi and then got a call from her daughter asking Nancy to ride with her to Gainesville. Nancy was a little disgruntled because she would not be able to go home and fix her veggie lunch, so I offered her the rest of mine. She scarfed it down! She called me later and asked, “Wow those peas were good but did they not give you gas?” I have to say, I am a little prudish about those types of things so I just laughed at her and surmised they had that effect on her!
Day Three is veggie and fruit day………….can’t wait! I do have to admit, I have more energy today and I think I may have dropped a pound or two already…….missing my vodka tonics with lime………….really missing that pan of cornbread that I would make to go along with those delicious peas……….STOP IT, SLAP, STOP IT! Okay, that is better……off to chop those veggies! Until tomorrow……..CHOW! (The spelling is intentional!)
P.S. Candice is a day ahead of Nancy and I on this and as of post time, she has shed six pounds! GO CANDICE!

I’m proud of you “I” and all you counterparts … Usually I’m, not a fan of diets, but who can argue with fruits and veggies. I follow a very regiimented lifestyle so I can appreciate the sacrifaces you need to make in order to get the results you want. Stick with it my friend!
